Is Direct Mailing in Your Marketing Plan?

As a Licensed Realtor and Mortgage Broker, I understand the importance of incorporating a direct mail strategy in my marketing plan. When farming an area, the key is to get your name in front of as many people as possible and to do it often. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in direct mailings. Fortunately, this marketing strategy paid off extremely well.
So, does direct mail work with an online business? You betcha! Let’s take a moment to discuss the reasons why it will work for online businesses. If you look around, you have a huge audience directly in your backyard. You have a whole community of potential customers/clients. It doesn’t matter if you live in a city of 300,000 or a small town of 3000. They are all potential customers/clients.
Let’s say you have a website designing firm, why not advertise within your town? There are numerous businesses that could utilize your expertise. And the best way to make yourself and your company known is through direct mail. It is an non-invasive way to get your foot in the door.
Many times, busy shop owners are annoyed by random sales calls, but they always read their mail. By sending out a series of postcards, you are getting your name in front of your potential future customer. If they are in the immediate need for a new website, then they are going to call you.
One of the places that I’ve found online is http://www.psprint.com. Their prices are reasonable and they have a full assortment of printing material. Additionally, their customer reps are always friendly and willing to assist you in any of your printing needs.
So, if direct mailing is not in your marketing plan, you are leaving money on the table. Your campaign does not need to be expensive, you just need to have one!
What are you doing offline to stay in touch with your customers?
That’s is for now. Until next time…wear your heels well!
