Hey, Hey… here we go with some more Brain BootCamp! Last post I talked about what not to say and being conscious of what you do say.
I had a client say to me today, “You know… The most difficult thing we have to manage is our mind!” She’s absolutely right on that one! So let’s see if I can help you out a bit…
Most of us find it very difficult to really pay attention to what we say inside our heads. I was working through a visualization this morning and found myself saying, “it’s getting too intense, I’ll just quit and do it later”. That happened 3 different times! Each time I had to bring my focus back to my intention and say to myself “No! I am going to continue!” I just kept going, and kept going, and was very glad in the end. I had completed by goal. A much better feeling than that of quitting.
So, as promised in my last post, here are some Power Phrases like the one above that you can begin implementing right away.
Limiting and Negative → Power Phrase
I can’t afford that car → One day I will be able to choose to buy that car.
There’s no way he’ll be able to get that house → I wonder what has to happen for him to get that house.
I hate this job → I haven’t gotten my ideal job yet.
I feel horrible → I’m getting better, better and better!
She looks fat in that ugly red skirt → Now that’s an interesting skirt she chose.
Notice in the first four that we keep the option open to have something different. The limiting negative statements stop any momentum. The Power Phrases offer an opportunity to have something different in the future. Notice in the last one that we’ve removed judgment. And what’s the old saying about judgment? ☺
Be sure to set yourself up for Success by taking it Step-by-Step! Pick one or two phrases from above or two of your own, and begin using them. Then add in more as you go. Your brain will be glad you did and you will too when you notice the results in your life!
