General Mills Announces that They Are Reducing Sugar in Their Cereals

I am not a morning person, so the thought of breakfast in the early a.m. just does not excite me. However, I do like breakfast later in the day.  Weird, huh?

Anyway, I love breakfast cereal served both in milk and as a snack food.  So when MyBlogSpark and General Mills sent me coupons to check out their cereals I was thrilled.  To be honest, I didn’t know General Mills made so many great cereals.

General Mills is taking a conscience effort to make products that cater to the healthy minded folks.  On their website, they say

Not only is cereal lower in calories and fat than most other breakfast choices, cereal is also: Benefits of Cereal

  • rich in nutrients
  • a leading source of whole grain
    in children’s diets

One study of 16,000 adults revealed those who skipped breakfast tended to weigh more than those who ate breakfast.

Eating cereal could mean that you:

  • consume less fat at breakfast
  • reduce calorie intake

I appreciate companies, like General Mills, for doing their part to keep me and my family healthier by reducing sugar intake.  Plus, breakfast cereals make a great snack to share during family time, such as watching TV, playing board of video games, or just sitting around talking. Just get several boxes of General Mills’ Chex cereals and mix them together.  That’s sure to please any picky eater and they don’t need to know that it’s healthy too!

So, what’s your favorite breakfast cereal?  Mine is Total Raisin Bran with fresh bananas.  Mmm, I could go for a bowl of it now!

To read more about General Mills’ cereals please click here for some great info!  You can also click here for a $1 off coupon for one of four General Mills cereals.

That’s it for now!  Until next time…wear your heels well and good luck!

DISCLOSURE: I was honored to receive four (4) coupons for free boxes of cereal from MyBlogSpark and General Mills. Upon using the coupons, it was up to me whether or not I wanted to write a review.  I was not paid in monetary compensation for my opinions and all opinions are my own.
