istock_000007032498xsmallBy owning your own business you are not only the boss but you are also the business owner. Many people can really excel in this situation and accomplish more this way then the traditional working environment. But for many others this situation could be a total disaster. That is why it is so important to take s step back a couple times a year and analyze yourself and make sure you are heading down the right track.

Where are you focused? Are you focused on your business or are you focused way out in left field? This right here can put your business into high gear or it can create a complete standstill. When working from home it becomes very easy to lose focus, because your mind is everywhere else but on your work. But letting your laundry sit for a couple of hours while you get some work done is totally OK. Your laundry does not pay your bills, but the couple of hours that you put into your business could create many financial rewards.

Not only should you be focused on your business tasks, but you should also be focused within your business. It is so easy to get totally sidetracked with all the possible new business ventures and other offers that you think are great. It can become hard to spread your time and your energy to so many different projects. It is much easier to handle just a few select projects that are all focused on your target market.

After you have worked all day long, do you get up from your desk and feel like you have had a totally productive day? Or do you wonder what you have completed and accomplished today? Look at your business tasks and figure out if they are actually an important part of you succeeding. If you happen to find that you get sidetracked very easily by surfing the internet, chatting on IM, or reading some blogs, then schedule some time for those personal tasks after you have completed your business tasks.

But if you feel like all your time is being sucked down a drain by replying to emails, updating websites, or researching for an upcoming project, then you need to join me for the Plan to Win 2010 Challenge.

Check it out now as space is limited! You definitely do not want to miss this exciting opportunity.

This hits close to home, and I think it applies whether in the workplace or at home. It’s so easy to move from one thing to another without really completing anything, and then at the end of the day you wonder what the heck you did with all of those hours lol. I have been making an effort to finish one thing before moving on to the next, and I think it really helps. I have seen an improvement in my concentration and I’ve been able to mark more things off my to-do list. :)
